God-Man is a comic book character created by American cartoonist Ruben Bolling. Born as a parody of the ultimate superhero archetype, God-Man has it all: he is all-powerful, all-knowing, omnipresent, and yet... also absurdly human in his decisions, doubts, and ethical dilemmas. His mission—if it can be called that—is to solve everyday problems and universal challenges in unconventional ways, often satirizing the very concept of justice, morality, and faith.

With subtle humor, the “superhero with omnipotent powers” invites the reader to a philosophical and spiritual reflection on personal beliefs, the role of divinities, and even the limitations of reason. Each comic strip is an invitation to laugh, but also—with much respect—to question, using satire to open space for new interpretations without falling into cheap cynicism.

A jazz enthusiast, Ruben Bolling was born in the U.S. and began his career in the 1990s. A Harvard Law graduate, Bolling decided to abandon law to dedicate himself to cartooning—a path he himself has described as improbable, driven by a love of intelligent and experimental humor.

His main work, Tom the Dancing Bug, began to be published in alternative newspapers in the 1990s and is now internationally recognized. Tom the Dancing Bug brings together dozens of characters, styles, and micro-universes—of which God-Man is one of the most iconic. Bolling's artwork blends sophisticated humor, social criticism, and a certain sweetness in the absurd.

In addition to God-Man, Bolling created other remarkable and equally satirical characters such as Percival Dunwoody, Idiot Time Traveler from the Future, Lucky Ducky, Charley the Australopithecine, Clod-Man, Devil-Man, Omnipotent Friends, Fan Club, Judge Scalia, Donald Finkelman, and the series Super-Fun-Pak Comix. His work has received several awards, including the prestigious Herblock Prize for Editorial Cartooning.

God-Man strips are published on GoComics, The Nib, and in printed and digital collections of the Tom the Dancing Bug series. Always credit and support the original author!
